The Red-Tailed Hawk is a nocturnal hunter but see black and white well enough to also hunt at dusk, the time when nocturnal animals, especially rodents, begin to awaken and move around. Hawks are considered messengers from another world, and as they descend from above, they bring with them the power of increased clarity. The reverse depicts a beautiful design of a Hawk with the distinctive style by Phil Lewis. On the obverse, the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: “SOLOMON ISLANDS” – the country of issue, "ELIZABETH II" - the name of the Queen, "8 DOLLARS" - the face value, “2022” – the year of issue, “AG 999.9 3OZ” – the weight of the coin and the fineness of Silver.
