Australia’s most famous marsupial, the kangaroo has appeared on The Perth Mint’s signature coin series since 1989. Featuring superbly observed portrayals of the iconic animal, the Australian Kangaroo Coin Series has a reputation for quality, purity and design that extends around the globe.
Struck in impressive high relief, this 2023 gold proof release portrays a kangaroo looking over its shoulder with a eucalyptus tree and grass trees in the background. As well as the inscription ‘KANGAROO’, the design incorporates The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
This coin portrays the official ‘Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Obverse’, featuring the Jody Clark effigy supplemented with the dates of Her Majesty’s reign – ‘1952 – 2022’.
Accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity, the coin is housed in a classic display case with a wooden lid and illustrated shipper.
